Colour Tumby is a community wide strategic plan set by the Tumby Bay Progress Association to enliven Tumby Bay.
Colour Tumby is about identifying, creating and delivering a range of community projects that will have significant social and economic benefits for our community. We also want to be promoting Tumby Bay’s image of being progressive and innovative to achieve this.
It is also about creating community wide projects to engender a greater community spirit that will leave a lasting benefit.
The Tumby Bay Progress Association has a very long history and is highlighted with many fantastic projects and legacies within the community. With projects like the Old Folks Homes, the original marina, the town oval, and the sole reason we still have a town jetty.
The re-energised Progress Association is made up of a very diverse range of people that are passionate about the community. The new members are made up of farmers, local businesses, tourism operators, local government employees and passionate community members.
The first of the community wide projects, is to set a target and raise $150,000 over the next 2 years.
This amount is only achievable if we have total community buy-in to the Colour Tumby plan. We will need all community groups, local residents, council, Bendigo Bank and major fundraising initiatives to all pledge money towards the target.
Once we have raised the funds, we will be in a position to leverage government and private grants to maximise the scale of projects we can achieve.
So far with the assistance of a council contribution of $15,000, and $30,000 from Tumby Bay Progress Association, we are well on the way to achieving that target.
If you are passionate about Tumby Bay, or have an idea to improve Tumby Bay, you are more than welcome to come along to the next Progress Association meetingMedia Reports
